Hey,
I was just wondering if anyone has been rejected post interview by LECOM-FL. I just received notice that I am on the alternate list, so I was wondering if they just put everyone who isn't good enough on that list to reject later, or if they reject people right after they interview. Thanks.

Hi,

Just out of curiosity, how did they notify you about your alternate status? I interviewed there a few weeks ago and have yet to hear a peep out of them. I've realized (as I sit here anxiously twiddling my thumbs! 🙂 ) that I didn't specifically ask them if we'd hear regardless of the outcome. It seems, though, that everyone is at least getting some information out of them (and quickly, too) while I wait...hmm....

What I do know is that they do reject people right after the interview--or at least, that's what I was told both at my interview day and when I met with one of their FP D.O.s. So, I suspect being placed on the alternate list is a good thing in the sense that I don't think they'd put you there unless they could see you as a member of the class. They suggested, as well, that they accept a considerable number of people from the waitlist.

Best of luck to you! :luck:

Cheers,

kkb

I got a very thin envelope in the mail today with a letter dated March 6th. Crazy how fast the mail gets from Florida to Texas. If you don't get something in a couple of days, you could try calling them. I also interviewed a looooooooooonnnnnnngg time ago (January 23rd). But they just received my DO letter last week. (Grrr, but that's another story.)
Good luck!

Their acceptance letters are very thin, as well. So if you get another letter in the mail from them, hopefully it's good news and you don't freak out when you see it!

Has anyone, or does anyone know anyone who was wailisted for the class of 2010 at either of the LECOMs and has now been moved off the waitlist and recieved official admission?

I have a friend who was waitlisted at LECOM-Erie and about a week before orientation, maybe even the day before orientation was to start he got a phone call and was asked if he could be in Erie by 8pm that night. Needless to say he said yes and things have went well for him.

I did, I called 2 wks after my interview, they had "misplaced" one of my LOR's after my interview, refiled it 1 wk later, waitlisted me, then 3 wks later sent me an acceptance letter. anything can happen until the day school starts. plenty of people put down deposits, change their minds at the last minute, get in the night before orientation...etc. stay positive, keep driving on. hope you get in! good luck

There are three choices made after an interview now: accept, reject, or alternate list. If you express an interest to remain on the alternate list, then you will certainly be considered soon. Remember that interviews will be over shortly and the class is not yet full. Last weeks e-mail addressed to "Class of 2010" had just over 100 names on it. According to the admisions staff, last years alternate list had about 90 people on it and about 45 got in. If you want in, then express your interest!

Just to set your minds at ease.. or make you crazy.. whichever way you tend to go...
at least 3 people were called the week of orientation this last year (class of 2009) to join the class...

if for some reason, someone doesn't show up - then they open the seat up to someone else....it happened this last year....

i just got my rejxn letter a few days ago. yippy

soo i just got an email from June Flaim a few days ago saying that the files were just reviewed last week and I'm still on the alternate list *sigh* and that they will be reviewed again the week of April 17th. Did anyone else get this email, or receive an acceptance?

I got the same email.

I just sent in my letters declining my seats at both LECOM-Bradenton and LECOM-Erie, so I hope this helps some of you all on the alternate list! Good Luck!

Those of you who received this email, when exactly did you get the email? I was placed on the alternate list on Monday of last week, but I did not receive this email nor did I receive an acceptance letter.

Same here for Bradenton only.

Just a thought on getting pulled off the alternate list to accepted....is it possible to roll your spot over to the following year if the acceptance comes with little time to be ready and move to FL? Is that a slap in their face if you pull something like that? I am just worried that for me to get everything ready at the last minute will be too difficult but I really want to go to Bradenton. Share amongst yourselves... 🙂

I didn't get an email either. 🙁

I don't think that anyone really gets "rejected" once they're on the alternate list, so not getting an email isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'm pretty sure that you either get accepted, or your file stays active in the alternate pool. Hopefully an acceptance letter is en route to your mailbox!

Thanks for the optimism. I've lost most of mine. 🙂

So alternate list applicants will be reviewed again tomorrow (I think). Good luck to everyone who's on the list and still wants to go to LECOM-B this summer! 😀

I think the email said something along the lines of "the week of April 17th." Sooo... i hope to see something in the mail soon... i'm planning on calling on Monday even though they can't really tell me anything.. maybe she'll slip.

Interesting, the email I recieved said that I would be updated again this week (the week of April 17th). I haven't been yet so, who knows?

I just got another email from June. She said that the alt. files were reviewed on the week of the 17th and that they will be reviewed again on the week of the 8th in May. Did anyone get pulled off the waiting list from this last alt. file review?

Someone should call and ask. I would but I just spoke with them. Who knows if they'll even tell anyone.
