Rejected on Dec. 1st?

Hi guys. So I interviewed at NYU a couple of weeks ago, and it didn't go as well I thought it would. My interivewer was kinda mean. I'll spare you the details, but he was very awkward and a tad sexist. Anyway, how likely is NYU to reject me on Dec. 1st? I figure if they invited me to interview this early, they can't hate me that much...right?

the answer to your question is one that only the school and god knows, good luck getting it out of them. Honestly though just wait, till then anything you hear is just speculation, we weren't at your interview, don't know your stats, or anything about your application so we can't really say anything with any certainty

More than likely..if you got a pre-dec 1st interview...the worst that'll happen is you'd get waitlisted. I dont think I heard of someone who got rejected on dec 1st. I heard of people who got interviewed in like october...didnt hear anything until a rejection in february. But more than likely...if you get a response on dec 1st and its not an acceptance...it'll be a waitlist.

Did you make sure you let Eugenia know that you are really interested in NYU? She said at our interviews that if you want to go there, now's the time to really let them know. If you are concerned at all about how the interview went, I would call or email her just to reinforce your interest.

Are you a student at NYU who knows about this? IF that's the case, then that news makes me feel better, knowing that I most likely won't be rejected on Dec. 1...

BTW, I emailed Dr. Mejia after the interview like DentalKitty suggests. She's actually the one who interviewed me. I'm really worried at how I did...I think it started well, really professing a genuine interest in NYU (i would love to go to NYUCD) but I think I blew a couple questions she asked...The ethics one and what I'll contribute to the field...

BAH! I hate having to wait another month.

by the way, the December 1st date isn't anything special for rejections, only acceptances. They could notify you right now (although I'm sure they won't) that you've been rejected. As the other posters said, since you already interviewed early your chances are still really good.

I didn't know that! NYU is my only interview thus far...I know that a lot of the schools to which I applied (like Temple, USC and UMDNJ) sent out their rejections already (and I haven't received any...yay!). I am hoping for the best. Thanks guys!
