Rejected than interview offer?

Just an FYI...never give up hope for those interviews. I was initially rejected by a program about a month or so ago and then just checked my ERAS today and the very same program had offered me an interview. Weird, huh?

I don't think my application package has changed at all in the last month! 🙂 Given that I'm fully burned out on the whole interview process and that this one would be an 8 hour trip, I don't think I'll be accepting this late in the game. Just thought I'd share in case anyone out there had similar experiences.

When I was applying to residency I applied to only one prelim program because I wasn't sure I was even going to need one and I didn't think it would be that hard to get in. I got rejected for an interview and called to find out what was going on. I told them I couldn't understand why they wouldn't even interview me since I thought my numbers were pretty good and my wife was an attending at their hospital. The program coordinator asked me, " Are you from Columbia the school or Colombia the country" When I told her the school she said, "oh, I think I made a big mistake" Then she told me they had already purged my file but would I please resend my application. I ended up doing a prelim year there.
