hey, you didnt need a letter from a religious letter. if you read the fine line, it said that you if you didnt have a religious leader then have someone who knows you very well write one (except family). So i had my friend do it. They said it was fine and I just got my acceptance letter.

I got an email from a LLU staff member saying that I needed one. I think my stats are competitive enough to get an interview.

yeah you do, it can either be a letter from religious leader or someone that has known you for a long time. basically they need a letter like this to see what you are like. but yeah it didnt have to be a letter from religious leader. trust me half of applicants dont even have one, like me.

As for myself, I am ready to throw in the towel soon. I've got rejections from: Az, Case, Penn, Temple, UCSF, Loma Linda, Pitt, Nova, and UOP. I have yet to receive word from Marquette after receiving there 'we will review your application in January' mail. This school is my top choice so I will remain patient. 😳

Having paid $2k+ in app fees, this entire application process sucks major ass. Guess I'm getting a headstart on collecting debt prior to d-school. 🙁

Tzips I admire the fact that you gave yourself a chance in applying to UIC, but seriously you wasted X dollars doing so. Out of staters have no chance whatsoever. Serious in state students struggle to gain spots at UIC....and the whole state funding thing goes a looong way at U of I (chicago)...they are starting to have classes with 0 out of staters. Oh well, you live you learn. Not to make an example out of you...but people PLEASE do research before you just apply to wherever you think you want to go...make phone calls, write emails, dont just base applying on the admission requirement book. Hey, if you all want to waste money, be my guest, but if you want to avoid losing it (as well as saving face and avoiding rejection) contact the admissions office before you apply (people applying for the c/o of 2010 this goes out to you)!!!!!!!!

Okay, this might be a really stupid question, but so far I got rejected from Maryland and NYU; my file is still under review at Buffalo and I still haven't heard from 4 other schools. I haven't even gotten any interviews from any schools except NYU. Any advice on what I should do? Is anyone else in this position? It just seems so late to be getting interviews now. Thanks for any input!

ya, it sucks ass...i've had my ups and downs, more downs than anything...it really bums out my friends, and they keep telling me stuff, like..time will come..blah blah..
it's great they believe in me, but really, u can't help the way u feel (or u can't stop checking your mailbox, email, infosource), unless u just 'let it go' for a bit.

i have learned to stop the incessant checking. it's futile...my anxiousness has declined...cuz it wastes too much energy & time...affecting my school work.

at this point, we can't do ANYTHING to change THIS cycle..but if we just concentrate what we're doing now, be it school or work...and wait patiently..things will happen.

i'm just tryin to say that, it really doesn't matter what anyone says until u just let it go...sucks...but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Wow, im shocked that you havent heard from schools yet. Thats pretty strange, given your scores.

I would bet that NYU and BU will be knocking on your door soon.

No choice. This sucks major a$s bro...I haven't been this pissed off and heartbroken for awhile. The only 'low stat' school (according to this forum) I applied to is BU, and I haven't received a word from them.

Did they find it really "necessary"?? with that tone??? Dr. Ayers (at Ceighton) if you are reading this, this sentence is among the most humiliating things that I have ever heard in my whole life. A word of encouragement, even in a rejection letter, goes a long way.

At the time I was applying last year, my DAT score was 19/17/18.

My total science score was problematic, so I got waitlisted.

Plus, the guy who interviewed me was a bastard.

No, im in Houston now. Im not quite sure how schools view wash u. I thought that going there would help my chances, but apparently not. My science GPA at that school sucked. I was able to pull up that part of my GPA by taking science classes at other schools. So, even though they may have thought highly of me going to wash u, Im sure they were turned off by my performance in my science classes at that school. I got my butt kicked there.

it jsut depends on what they are lookin for. i have 2.97, 3.04, 20/19/17 and got into NYU with 100,000 scholarship. it just depends. most dental schools for more than jsut grades.

I submitted my application to AADSAS extremely late in the cycle and was never granted an interview. This was the first I heard from UMich. However, I also lacked the biology requirement (I had one year of general bio instead of anatomy - or what ever bio course they require instead of general - I forget 🙂) soooo I was expecting the rejection. I wish I could answer your question, but I just don't know - maybe they are only considering those applicants that meet the minimum requirements or perhaps they did in fact review my file and found me unacceptable. Hope this helps. 🙂
