I already had 5 interviews, and one left. My GPA is 3.6, BCP GPA is 3.5.
DAT: AA:23/TS:21/PAT:19. Volunteering 100hrs and shadowing 500hrs.
English is my 2nd language. I have lived for 5 yrs in the U.S
Even though I was invited to interviews, I don't know why I got rejection letters ceaseless.
Because of English? I can speak in English and communicate. what is the problem?
Anybody can predict?

Well if you have 5 interviews and haven't received rejections from all 5, you still have a chance. Just be patient.

Are you sure you really did 500 shadowing hours? That could be the reason.

RC was 20. Yeah, I did almost 500hrs for last 24months.

nope, I am a permanent resident. Actually I took DAT twice. First one was AA:22 TS:20 PAT:20. I got two interviews but was rejected to all of them.

May be it is your interview. When interviewing are you able to address your key points why dentistry and who you are as an applicant?

Have you practiced with someone or recorded yourself to see how you act? Also, may be the answers you give are not what they are looking for.

Do you have a baby face? My teacher's son couldn't get into med school because he looked too darn young like a 16 yr-old at the interviews. He even tried not shaving to show some scruff lol. Well, at least he'll have a better chance with each subsequent year.

no, i don't have a baby face. I didn't have to write something during the interview. and I think I have good reasons to apply for dentistry and something to tell who i am. Anyway, I have only 1 interview left in Tufts next week. just keep practicing and practicing..that's only what i can do.

maybe your interview skills need some polishing up. also, if the school thinks you're too good for them, like you'll turn them down if you get somewhere else better, they will probably not contact you or reject.

I'm not accusing you of lying on your application or anything, but 500 hours of shadowing? really? You literally sat and watched a dentist work for 500 hours? The benefit of shadowing starts to plateau at about 50 hour IMO. Are you sure the school isnt accusing you of BSing? Volutneering for 500 and shadowing for 100 sounds more reasonable.

I'm going to go on a limb and assume it was 500 hours shadowing/basic assisting/general office stuff.

I meant 100hrs volunteering in hospital and 500hrs of shadowing/dental assisting. I was devoted to those to be a stronger candidate...really..

If you make a predent profile people may have more ideas to help you. I have loads of shadowing/assisting hours too. I used to be a dental assistant and am now again. Some people are just jelous. Right now I work around 10 hours M-F and 6 on Saturday. Seriously, if you make a predent profile, there are a lot of eyes in this forum that may be able to help more.
