I am waiting to hear from MCP. I have noticed that a lot of people that interviewed after me have already received acceptances. Does a rejection letter get sent out later. I live in the Phili area.
I interviewed second week of Oct.
Any thoughts?

I was thinking the same thing. I interviewed the second week of October too and have not heard back from them. If anyone knows if rejection letters go out later than acceptances, particularly at MCP, I'd be curious to know.

I'm kinda wondering the same thing only with interview offers vs. rejection letters. I'm getting annoyed that I haven't heard anything from MCW yet...
sent in a secondary on 8/20 and I confirmed with them that my app was complete well over a month ago...just interview or reject me already!
Seems that when interviews do come, they come pretty fast. I don't know yet if the same is true for acceptances.

applying to med school is a big waiting game. schools interview all the way through about april, and as long as you're not rejected before then, you can get an interview any time during this time frame. there isn't necessarily any correlation between when you hand in your secondary and when you get an interview, if you ever do. you can mail in your secondary in august and not interview until march, or you can mail in your secondary the day before the deadline and get an interview a week later. you just never know. just take solace in the fact that you haven't been rejected yet--an interview may come later. the same advice holds for rejection letters after interviews. they may not accept you right away--you may move onto the waitlist, or they may not make a decision until much, much later. patience, everyone! 😀

I interviewed at MCP on 10/8. I called yesterday and they said I had gone to comittee, but sometime things take longer. You should get a decision in 6-8 weeks because after you go through your two interviews, there is also a blind committee member who reviews your file. Sometimes, it takes them longer to return your file. Hope this helps. I'm also going to withdraw regardless of the decision, as I've already been accepted to another Philly school.

They didn't mind you calling them? What did you say?

I was interviewed 10/8 and rejected 10/19

Olympic gold, out of curiousity, who'd you interview with and where'd you go to school? Do you think they rejected you because they thought you'd go to school somewhere else?

I interviewed with Dr. Pleasure. (Yes, that was her name) She and I had a really good discussion and it all went really well. If there was anything stupid I said, it was "It was a pleasure to meet you, Dr. Pleasure." (TOTALLY inadvertantly) I knew I'd be accepted, and when the rejection letter came, I was shocked. So I called the dean, Dr. Kantner, and I asked him why. he couldn't indulge, but suggested some of the things I had said 'concerned' one or both of my interviewers. Since our discussion(s) were completely incontroversial, I say the venerable doctor's words were an excuse. I really hope that my rejection was based on their assumption that I'd choose another school over MCP. Little did they know--- I liked it! BTW- I'm a Cornellian.

Oh well, that's life. Got a big interview this weekend. Let's try again!

No, a later reply does not mean a rejection letter. I'm not at home, but away for the weekend and my mom called to tell me I had a huge envelope from Hahnemann. I'm assuming it's an acceptance and the application to the PIL program. I'm withdrawing though since I've already been accepted elsewhere.

when I interviewed at MCP in 2000, I waited 10 weeks before I received my waitlist notice. It totally sucked and the time really varies. Anyway, many schools will not send out final rejections until May so don't be discouraged if you haven't heard from a school yet. When I applied I got a thin envelope from SLU in the mail in late February and assumed it was a rejection letter and it turned out to be an interview invitation! Interestingly enough, SLU was the first school to accept me.
