I've applied to some schools that have sent out deferrals/rejections to people with gpa/dat much better than mine. It makes me wonder what this means. I know the logical thing would be to assume that's good news, but keep in mind I haven't received any interview offers yet, and I submitted the first day apps opened. I just get this feeling in my gut that if these people aren't good enough, then idk what that makes me. I feel like at this point it would be better to rip the band-aid and get the bad news than sit in silence for more months. Overall, I guess I'm just wondering what this means/kind of ranting bc even though it doesnt change anything it helps to express my frustrations.

Stats are not everything, schools also look for people who fit their mission. Just imagine you are already rejected and prepare for next cycle, this will allow you to already rip off the "band-aid" on your own terms and if you get any good news all the better.
