Is it true that you cannot be rejeced if you had a pre-dec interview until december 3rd? My friend told me that if one had a pre-dec interview, ADDSAS doesn't allow schools to send out rejection letters to such people until after Dec 3.

Drop that friend. True friends don't lie.

Schools can do what they want with rejections. Before December, after December, post- or pre-interview. Any combo of that. I don't know how many schools do that, but it happens. ASDOH is the one I always cite as an example. You can interview one week (pre-Dec) and get a rejection letter then next. Bluefield does the same thing. Acceptances are the only thing on hold until December 3.

I would possibly find your reply funny but I don't check these forums hourly and for that reason I don't know who glimmer is. Unlike you, I'm not obsessed with what is everyone is posting. You should try going out a little more. It might help you be less of the ***hole that you clearly are. But then again, judging from the way you talk to people online I doubt you would be able to hold a normal conversation with a person face to face. Sorry about your loss.

I think the frustrations of waiting coming out from all sides ....hold on to your sanity people we all know it's difficult time and truly nerve wreaking ( I think i misspelled it, it looks funny..N E wayz)...but we will get through this together...and yes we are all here to help each other

Dental schools are free to send rejections any time they want (both pre- and post-Dec 1st); however, they are not allowed to send acceptances until Dec 1st.

If Howard (for example) says that you will have no contact unless its an interview until the final decision period...can they still send out rejections before the final decision period?

Actually, not trying to be a smartass, but based on how you used it, it is either be "nerve-racking" or "nerve-wracking". Both have pretty much the same meaning and are correct.

As for the OP, schools can reject any time, but tend not reject interviewed candidates early. I personally have not heard of interviewed candidates being rejected prior to Dec 1, but I'm sure it happens.

The optimist in me says to take it at face value and just assume "no contact" includes rejections (i.e. they won't send one out until the "final decision period" - whatever that is). Whether that's reality or not is inconsequential and not within our control, so I see no reason to think otherwise. 😳

As for this thread, please keep it on topic or relatively near to it and within the bounds of respectful discussion between all members. I can never say this enough: use the ignore function if you can't do it through your own will power.

One of the most resourceful posters out there who also happens to have succeeded in getting into dental school and compiled a lot of info on admissions more than any of us ever will. I see malice when its there, but he was merely being playful with the OP with his usual sarcastic remark that he uses with everyone. Congrats for p1ssing him off so that SDN is a sadder place with even less knowledgeable, grounded and honest contributors.

I don't know if I would call his responses playful. It is also a little alarming that someone who will undoubtedly have to deal with unhappy people as a dentist, would allow himself to become angry, and lose his composure, because of a few posts directed at him on SDN. How will someone like this respond when they have an angry patient in their face. Good for him for getting into dental school, we will all be there next year. Good luck Kitty.

It's his style though. He's very stoic and sarcastic like that. I've been talking to him on and off the forum on and off for a good while now through this app process. I really think you're mistaking his style for malice. He's a good guy. And keep in mind, he's also dealing with 20 some credits plus lab work right now. If I were him, I'd be p1ssier and have a lot less nice things to say. He's really helped quite a few on this site, honestly, including myself.
