Do rejections usually come early in the process or later? I've only heard back from 3 schools. Do schools typically hold onto your file and reject you in May as long as you meet their cutoffs? I am just getting antsy waiting to hear back from all these schools (even a rejection limits where I could possibly go), rather than wonder where I'm going to go (if anywhere) next year.

If you have no chance then they will reject you early. BUT if they keep your application around for a long time then there still reviewing/ maybe thinking of giving you a chance...

i'm in the same boat, i submitted June 2nd, have 2 interviews so far but no rejections. a bunch of the schools i've applied to have been giving out interviews but i haven't been hearing from them. is it safe to say that my chances are low at the schools who have been sending out invites that i haven't heard from?

I found each school has a different way of handling this. Some flat out rejected me right away last year some held onto it forever till like may till they rejected me, some held then offered interviews and some offered interviews right away. It really depends on the school how they do it, sorry I can't give you a better answer...but thats how it really works.

Looks like I'm in good company. I have 2 interviews got a handful of rejections and am still trying to be patient on hearing from the other 9 schools. AADSAS says "app recieved/under review" for many schools. I'm guessing the schools that are holding my app just don't think I suck bad enough to kick out yet and will probably shake an 8-ball at my app for a decision in the Spring. The schools I have been waiting for are OSU, WVU, New Jersey, Colorado (ya right I'm getting in there), Buffalo, Pitt, Creighton, Iowa, and Marquette. LLU rejected me right quick, UNLV, Case, and ASDOH gave me the finger already, once they saw my pic they knew I was too ugly for their school (jk). Oh the anticipation and stress!! I love being a dental school applicant!

I may start making shirts that say, "I applied to Dental School and all I got was this lousy T-shirt." If anyone wants one, let me know. (I'm joking....kind of 🙂).

Hey guys!! Relax!!! Don't let the stress get to you so much! Just waiiit - remember it's still SEPTEMBER!!!!! Lots of schools haven't given out interviews yet either and Pitt JUST started yesterday or two days ago.

So don't worry - be happy if you at least have one interview!! that itself is a good sign!

Maybe GPA is important to Maryland, but that is a pretty solid Post-Bacc GPA, and you definitely worked out any kinks in the science department on your DATs. It's a shame about Maryland, but it looks like you have plenty of other interviews lined up!

I'm not sweating it. I figured it would be a bigger deal with some schools than others, so I applied to 13. Hopefully, I'll perform well enough at the interviews I was lucky enough to receive. I've literally done everything I can possibly do to re-make myself as a legit candidate. If it's not enough, then I'll apply again next year. I'll be disappointed but not defeated.

I applied to seven schools this admissions period, and I've been invited to interviews at 5: Nova, UF, Penn, Maryland, and NYU.

I'm yet to hear back from either UMKC or UNC. I think out of state public schools tend be slower through this process, as they skim through their in-state opportunities earlier. Not sure.

First rejection notice on AADSAS from Case today, and not all that surprised. I was more surprised that it took as long as it did.

I haven't gotten a rejection yet... then again I haven't gotten much of anything, 1 interview in Feb... secondaries and that's it.

I would said your chances are low to none IF you know someone that has applied AFTER you, but has already gotten an interview to the school...For example my friend apply to UPenn a month AFTER ME, but he has already been invited for an interview...so that pretty much means UPenn has looked at my application already and don't like what they see....🙁
