I'm volunteering at an outpatient right now; I get to run errands or observe PTs when there's not that much to do and if the patient is okay with me being around.
In that clinic, there are usually 10 PTs present when I'm volunteering so I would like to know how I can build a strong relationship with them if I won't really have that much time with each one? Because whenever I shadow, the patient is with us and after, the PT has to do something else so I just don't know how to build a strong relationship if time is limited and shadowing the same PT over and over is unlikely because there's too many of them.

Keep asking questions. Just like when you first meet a person that then becomes your friend. ASK THEM ABOUT THEMSELVES. The more you talk to each one, the more you'll figure out who you vibe with more. And then you can stick with that one PT. Idk thats what I did in an outpatient clinic. I know outpatient can be kind of tricky because patients can pretty much do things on their own. Which is perfect because then you can have alone time with the PT. Oh and don't ever look bored. Smile =)

I did a shadowing experience like that and was never able to make a connection with any of the PTs; most of the time they could've cared less I was there and even though I asked questions and appeared to be interested, no one bothered to really talk to me. So, I stopped wasting my time and went to another clinic. There I was treated with much more respect, was allowed to interact with patients, observe evaluations, etc. I felt way more comfortable asking that PT for a LOR than I would've at the other place.
