We at Lancaster General Hospital are pleased to announce the initial accreditation of our General
Practice Residency program which will commence this coming July 1, 2011. We were granted
Permission on February 6, 2011 to begin interviewing interested candidates for our first GPR
class. Unplaced candidates who are looking for a resident position are most welcome to apply for this year.
Our one year program features a diverse patient population in hospital practice and ambulatory
clinical experiences as well as special patients with craniofacial facial birth defects and cleft
palate. Our Cleft Palate Program, established in 1938, was the first to introduce the team
concept in the treatment of craniofacial deformities.
I am certain the program here would benefit residents by adding a unique perspective through
their challenging and rewarding clinical experiences.
If you have students interested in our program, they may email me for details.

Thanks for the replies! I am frantically still trying to find an open spot in a GPR, preferably in NY but now I will go anywhere.

It may be better to work next year, rather than taking a spot in a not so great gpr. Just my two cents. You can always apply after working a year to gprs for the upcoming application cycle.

Unless they are planning on settling down in a state that requires a residency, such as NY or DE.

Lancaster is a beautiful place to live... great food and near the big cities. They have been into education for a long time with their cleft palate program. The new GPR should be great - just been accrediated, so it has to be good. And it will improve.

Time is short, so anyone interested in a GPR should proceed quickly for any unfilled positions.
The GPR here at Lancaster General was accredited 2/7/11 and emails were sent to unplaced D-4 students. Interested students should send exactly the same information to my attention as he or she sent to PASS. See the PASS web site for requirements.

I will let every one at the Special Care Dentistry meeting know this week. I will see if they have any knowledge of students.

Thank you Dr. Arm for your support.
