I thought it would be a great idea to post remembered AKT questions and in-service questions. This might even be a sticky, eventually. Just post the remembered question stem and any of the answers that you remember. I think it will help everyone in the future to pass the boards.

To actually attempt to reproduce portions of the test is prohibited and the fine print on the actual test states this. I'm not saying that people DON'T do this to some extent on their own, but in a public forum as visible as this is, I would think it would be inadvisable. That being said, remembered questions and topics are the basis for many a review course and has made at least one anesthesiologist very rich. The ABA does not particularly like this person.

Well, if the guy that your speaking of (and I know who you are talking about) can PUBLISH rememered questions, why in the heck can't we?

That person is very careful to not publish QUESTIONS. He publishes ANSWERS and discussions. The questions are distributed at the course and taken up after the test has been taken and discussed. Unless someone is stealing copies, those questions are not released. I believe that is the way that they get away with it.

BTW, I am not saying you can't do that, I am just saying that the forum should not be surprised if the ABA is not happy about it.

Jensen's not publishing questions he remembers, he's publishing questions someone else remembered and told him. He never signed the test booklet agreeing not to copy or memorize the contents. He's breaking no laws, and there's no contract between him and the ABA.

If he publishes questions that someone told him then it would seem he is an accessory no? The point is you can't reproduce questions.

I do think we should discuss answers to questions not on the boards though they may pertain to board questions.

I strongly advise you not to do this. You can get in a lot of trouble that can affect your career. The ABA can find out who you are even in a forum like this. They can then prevent you from ever becoming board certified. DO NOT DO THIS.........................

That's correct. The AKT is distributed by METRICS Associates and is designed by the "Interhospital Study Group for Anesthesia Education." This group is apparently made up of academic anesthesiologists around the country. I'm not sure how much influence the ABA/ASA has on this group. More info:

Don't cheat yourself. These are just tests. The knowledge that you accumulate during residency will last you your entire career. Just study like everyone else.

Contraindications to Sux, a "K- type" question.

There, I did it. I repeated a question. I'm waiting for the police... I plan on putting up a fight... Better bring in the swat team. I bet the ABA is on the phone right now with my program director. I'm going to be kicked out of the program. No call for me tomorrow!!!

Give me a damn break....

just look what happened to some prominent medical students who decided to "publish" some Step 3 questions.....it is public knowledge that they were not allow to sit for any future step 3 and there scores were not validated... Rizzo, there is not reason to post questions or answers...you have nothing to gain.....

never heard of this story. who were these prominent students- if they exist that is😉
not necessarily calling bs on this, just saying that all this double talk is unnecessary and takes away credibility from the posts

Damnit!!!!! I wasn banking on getting out of call since I disclosed a question. Didn't happen... still took call last night. Fun evening, filled with BS trauma's due to St. Patty's day drunkards. Maybe I need to spew out another question ot two:

Mechanism of baclofen.

That one should definitely seal my fate.

Post the entire exam online...you will live with the consequences.....last post..out

Just post keywords if you want. Your personal keywords are printed on your report, and my buddies and I sometimes study by looking these up individually, providing a reference, and practice by defending our new information. You would not be violating any rules by studying from keywords.
My two cents..

Btw AKT is not THE test to study from in my humble opinion. To me the big boy is ITE.
