I redid Orgo I.. I got a D the first time.. I had lots of Cs in my pre-med classes.. hm.

I think it depends on what class it is, how many times you've taken it and what your grades have been.

Why would you give up? Do you think you no longer have a shot or have you convinced yourself you won't be able to cut it, academically, in med school?

Which classes was it? How many times have you repeated? What have the grades been? How is your GPA, overall and science-wise?

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, DO schools only use the last grade you got in a repeated class. So if you can address what has previously gone wrong and ultimately score A's, repeated classes won't hurt you that bad. However, the looming question is how will you ensure that history won't repeat itself during first year?

I retook Orgo 1 after I got a C in it. I retook the class because I didn't feel I understood the material and not simply to replace the grade.

Dude, don't give up. I repeated General Biology so many times the prof knew my name first day. It wasn't that I couldn't understand it, it was just a lack of motivations.

I'm trying now for do school so we'll see how it goes.

as posted, DO's take the best grade. so that W, F, and D will go away if you get an A or a B.

get decent grades and do good on the mcat. get research going and volunteer a little whilst making connections for LORs. You're str8. gluck.

Being a single mom myself, I completely understand what you are going through. I struggled with Chem II...F..D..F... and finally an flipping A+. It had nothing to do with my ability to succeed in the class and everything to do with focus and motivation. Sometimes its best to just walk away from it and then come back when you feel 100% confident about it. Or at least that's what worked for me. Good Luck😀😀

P.S. I know this sounds really sappy but its really true..FOLLOW your HEART.

If I remember correctly, I retook at least 4 classes. The adcoms still showed me love. AACOMAS is more forgiving than AMCAS b/c they replace retaken courses. Although, I wouldn't make a habit of it. Once you do it once, it becomes very addictive.
