I took the step 1 again (4 times), and bombed. My score this time 152 previously 161. I do not want to quit medicine and I know getting into residency will be difficult and I really do not know what job I could get. Is there any advice you can share, and specific testing program you can advise expect for Kaplan, I am not fond of their program.

We'd need to know a lot more about your academic/testing history, among other things. The fact that you've taken it 4 times and have not passed is troublesome, particularly because it suggests a lack of awareness with regards to your readiness.

Have you been able to identify what the reason(s) is/are for your poor performance? Were you scoring well on other diagnostic exams?

It sounds like you've already completed a full Kaplan course, and have still performed poorly in a reproducible fashion. Is English comprehension an issue? If not, you really need to reexamine your priorities and be honest to yourself about your abilities and future in medicine. I believe the current recommendation of the NBME is for programs not to consider anyone who has failed 3 or more times (since otherwise you could buy a passing grade by taking the test a million times), so in all honesty it may be too late already.

I'd offer specific advice, but it sounds like your situation is too systemic for me just to say something like "read Goljan"...

You are missing one of two things.

You are either missing the knowledge or you are missing the strategy. Either way you, the only option you have now is to work on your strategy to get a pass. At this point, you have closed doors to quite a few options due to the repeated failures. At this point, any pass will do for the remaining programs that will consider you.

You need to do all of UW and all of Qbank until you finish them all. At the same time, keep going through and ready First Aid until you have memorized the whole book. That is what you will need to do if you want to pass.
