Hello!
I am currently in the process of filling out the work/activity section on AMCAS. For one of the volunteering, I had some gap in between my hours.

I completed one shift in June 2025 when I started as a new volunteer but then had to take a gap due to research/work. I returned back in September 2025.
Should I list this as repeated activity and separate the time?

In addition, how long of a break in between would be considered "repeated" ?

Thank you!

Hello!
I did take a look at that section but I guess my question is how much of a break in-between the activity is considered continuous? For example, for summer activities shown in point #19 the gap seems large in between the activity participation so I can see why they would put that as a repeat. But is a two month gap large enough to be considered a repeat activity ?

thank you for your fast response!

Put it in 2 listings
The summer between your dates might not be the exact reason you paused but it will make sense to whoever reads it

I'd suggest just lumping it together. Show total hours. Show time frame. It is going to look silly to list one date and a few hours followed by a 2 month gap and then another longer bout of activity. In my mind, the episodic listings are for things that happened only in the summer, or only in the school year, or once annually.
