Hey guys, sorry but for some reason they won't allow me to post a reply to the post.. So I just decided to post a new thread 😛

Anyways,
I am still unclear on how the repeated classes work in case I am trying to replace the previous grade. I mean the thing is that I basically have taken all the prereqs at a 4 year state university in california and received credit for. Some of them I have repeated two or three times there and have passed with C or better. Now I am taking a break. I am now trying to take all the prereqs all over again at a community college and here comes the part where I am confused. So basically some of the prereqs I took at my school are not exactly equivalent to classes at a community college if I were trying to transfer the units. For example, if I wanted to satisfy first semester of Bio at my school by taking a class at a community college, then I would have to take some additional classes such as zoology and some other level bio besides general biology. But the thing is that I don't necessarily have to transfer these units back to my school to receive credit for my bio major since I already have the credits counted for general bio class at my school. I just am trying to repeat all these prereqs for the sake of replacing grades in the AACOMAS application. So I am really confused if it is necessary for me to take all this bundle of bio classes at a CC that is in the articulation of a single general bio class at my school in order to replace the grade I got for the class that was originally taken at my 4 year state university. Or would taking just a general bio at CC be sufficient enough to be counted as a repeated class and to be used as a replacement grade...? Hm I don't know. I've searched this forum thoroughly and no one seems to have ever had that problem... is it only me...that doesn't have any common sense... IDK.... but this is so confusing for me..

Hope somebody can clarify this confusion for me =)

Have a nice day...!!!

and yes, Jay. I really need to make up my mind on whether to go after dental or medical. Right now I am both volunteering in a hospital and am thinking about shadowing one of my dad's friend who is a dentist.
Should I just forget about shadowing a dentist... and just focus on med school...? I am pretty sure I will get all A's in the prereqs when I repeat them, but I am just not sure how well I would do on MCATs... I just skimmed through one of the MCAT prep books (Berkeley Review) and it seems so... devastatingly hard

. I don't know. I just feel like I am not good at standardized tests... anyways thank you Jay for your answer as well!!!

You need to take a deep breath, calm down and just focus on the courses you will be taking right now. There is no point of talking about the mcat when your back is against the wall and you are repeating a lot of courses. I am not trying to knock you down but, you really need to keep your head up and tackle these repeats first. Worry about the mcat in the summer whenever you are going to be taking it. Its good that you think that you can get A's but at the end of the day, you still need to sit down and put the work in. So please just concentrate on what's on your plate now. The mcat's a whole different game. I've never seen someone who did well on the mcat by just skimming thorough the book in a day and ace it. the mcat like all other exams will require work. If you are willing to put the work in, the efforts generally will pay out.

Secondly, I can't suggest if you should be going for dent or med. This is going to be your career. Volunteer & shadow physicians and see if you could really see yourself doing med. Do the same for dent. You have to decide for yourself what is it that you are more passionate about. They are both really good career choices and one that involve dealing with patients. So, pick one that you think you could see yourself doing for the next 40 -50 years or however long you can think.

Lastly be positive bro/sis. Like i said before, i've had to put in a lot of work to bring my gpa up to where it is now from where it was 3 years ago. You have to stay positive and be confident about being able to turn it around. I am sure you can pull it off if you put the work in. G'luck 👍

PS:Your school transfer thing has me confused, maybe someone else can help you out on that

so what i am reading is you repeated many of your prereqs a couple times and still aren't satisfied with your grade and want to repeat at a community college? is this correct or i am missing something. clearing up this confusion of mine will help.
