I know this is generally a big no no, but a lot of schools ask "if you're a re applicant, what did you do to strengthen your app". For my committee letter, my school requires us to send a one page update letter answering this exact question. I put a lot of effort into mine knowing it would be going to every school, but am i supposed to just repeat what I wrote in all the secondaries too? Any ideas how I could do this in a different way? Or should I essentially just rehash the same stuff...

What would you guys do?

Is there anything you didn't mention there that you could mention for this question?

I definitely wouldn't copy and paste - people that would see both things would probably assume you're lazy. Even if you rehash the same info, rewrite it so that it at least seems "fresh."

someone asked me this question a few days ago. i'd recommend just restating it

I wouldn't see anything wrong with rewriting your secondaries from last year in a different way.

I agree with above. It would be just as strange to completely change your application (totally new most meaningful experiences, etc) as it would to write literally the same thing. Make sure you highlight any positive changes, rephrase and re-structure as necessary (not for the sake of it). I haven't read or written an essay yet that couldn't be improved.

sorry i wasn't clear. This is all for this application cycle. The update letter is only required of re-applicants.
