Hi,

I have to repeat some of my pre reqs this summer before I start applying to PT school. Here is what I have so far:
Bio1 - B Bio 2 - C
Bio1-Lab B+ Bio 2-Lab - C
Chem 1 - B Chem 2 - D, Chem 2 (Repeated ) - C-
Chem1-Lab - B Chem 2 - Lab - B-
Physics 1 - Withdraw, Physics 1 - C- Physics 2 - C-
Physics1-Lab - B Physics2 Lab- Taking now

Calc - C, Stat - B+, Psych1 - C, Psych 2 - C+, A&P 1 - C, A&P 2 - Taking now.

My question is , should I repeat Physics, Chem or Psych or all of them that has C, even if they are repeated once. All the help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Everything with Cs if youre financially able. GPA is super important and unless you can justify those Cs in an interview, they dont look good. Plus, they will lower your prereq GPA.

I'm going to be very blunt here and hope that it will save you time, grief and money. I would NOT apply this cycle to PT schools. You don't have any redeeming grades here. Schools can accept maybe 1 or 2 lower grades if all the others are good (hey, maybe a certain class just isn't a strength). But you have consistently low scores across the board. I think you will end up not getting in and then will have wasted valuable time you could have been retaking classes. I would recommend a full post-bac program for you. I would retake EVERYTHING you have listed (possibly you could get away with just retaking Bio 2 and Chem 2 instead of those full sequences, but only if you are sure you can pull the A in that course without getting good at the first semester material). You can do it in a year with maybe a little spillover into the summer if you are serious about it.

I promise all hope is not lost. I had worse grades than you did. Think Fs, Ds and C-s sprinkled in. So I'm guessing your overall GPA isn't great either. Take the full next year and retake everything. Get A's on top (means you got an A on the last retake). Then apply for the cycle opening in 2016 and you will be competitive. I wish someone had given me this advice when I applied the first time.

(Yes, to answer your specific question....repeat them again even if you already have once. It's not the best solution, but I think it may be your only one right now. I took general chemistry 3 times...it happens, but don't let it happen anymore. If you can't get an A on the 3rd time around, have a serious sit down with yourself and figure out if this is really what you want to be doing)

Agree with @starrsgirl 100%. OP is advised to do as she suggests, make straight A's, and then do their research and target applications to schools that have grade-replacement for retaken classes, rather than averaging the two.

A thorough search of the forums for threads discussing what to do about bad grades is also suggested. This gets talked about a lot and there is tons of good advice out their.
