Read each one carefully. Most of the ones I have received ask for a written confirmation you will attend, and a couple say to email or call the day before to reconfirm and make sure there have been no changes to your interview schedule.

woah really? is this mostly state schools? I've gotten 7 invites, and only one (UCSD) wanted me to email someone for a confirmation. The rest just had me set up an interview online, and I assumed that was the "confirmation."
If the school schedules via e-mail, when you indicates your dates it is fine to just say something along lines of "thank you very much for your invitation..." But, the person who reads your e-mail will usually be interview coordinator and did not actually make decision to invite you.
If school uses online scheduling, I think it would be very odd to send an additional thank you.

I have 6 ints, and IIRC at least 3 require a confirmation - usually clicking on a link in the email, or sending an email to someone, confirming the interview. Some of them ask that you also reconfirm the day before, or the week of, the interview.
