I made this account to ask this question, it feels stupid to ask but I really need to calm myself.
I have been accepted into medical school. I was looking at their student handbook and it states, "All accepted and currently enrolled medical students are required to promptly (within 10 calendar days) report any criminal charges. Criminal behavior includes any felony and misdemeanor violations of the law. It includes speeding tickets, but it excludes minor traffic violations, such as parking tickets."
A year ago I received a speeding ticket, but it wasn't a misdemeanor, just a violation, so I didn't report it on my AACOMAS application.
I attended traffic school, never went to court, and it isn't on my 3 year record, but it is on my 5. Should I report this to the school? Or would this only be a policy for anything that happens while being accepted?
I apologize because I would make fun of myself on here for asking this question. Thanks for the help.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they mean after the fact. As in, if you got the ticket after getting accepted. You provided AACOMAS with what was asked, now that you will enter a contract with the school, any further criminal charges need to be reported.

I second this. A speeding ticket that didn't need to be reported on the AACOMAS probably wouldn't need to be reported to the school, though I'm in no way a legal expert.

If you're still not sure, call them. They may tell you to report the ticket, or they may tell you it's nothing to worry about. Either way, it's nothing to worry about.

I also had a speeding ticket a few years prior to applying. I attended traffic school for it, never reported it and it was never brought up. You're fine, it's a speeding ticket. Relax.

I had a couple speeding tickets on my primary app, interviewers never asked me about it, and I got accepted. As long as you weren't inebriated or didn't kill anyone, your fine. If your conscious is plagued tell them about it... They aren't going to reject you

You probably don't need to report it. It is probably written that way because some states count speeding tickets as misdemeanors. I had to report it on my app last year because in Ohio it is a misdemeanor. Never came up in any interviews
