Hi guys,

I am currently working on secondaries and am curious whether I should bring attention to my low verbal score in prompts like Toledo's "Briefly discuss any extenuating circumstances which you feel are pertinent to your application (poor grades, course withdrawals, etc)."

My MCAT score was a 34; P14 V7 B13 yet I excelled in English courses throughout college.

What do you think?
I'm curious as to what 'extenuating circumstances' arose during the middle section of your MCAT, yet didn't impact the other 2 at all.
Clearly your studying was not interrupted - you rocked the two more studyable sections!

If there are no specific circumstances, I would NOT put anything. This isn't a free-for-all 'discuss any academic weaknesses' prompt...it's a 'do you have a specific explanation for your weaknesses' prompt. Do you?

Do NOT do this. No matter how it's written, whenever I see it, it comes off as excuse making, rather than an explanation.

Save explanations for interviews.
