Do I have to report to AACOMAS that I will be retaking the MCAT in August of this year?

What happens if I dont?

I dont want to tell med schools that I will be retaking it, and come august I decide to not go to the test. I also dont want them to not look at my folder and put it off til October until scores come again.

Do you think your score is enough competitive ? Well, or at least, do you think your app is competitive ?

I think I'm ok with my scores and GPA, although it certainly can be MUCH MUCH better.

11BS, 9PS, 6VR
Overall GPA: 3.90; BCPM: 3.85

Bunch of ECs like tutoring, research, hospital volunteer, shadowing a DO, etc.

I dont know if i should retake to fix the VR. But otherwise I would think I haev a good shot. So I dont know if I want to tell them Im retaking. I want them to consider me as is, and then if i can do better, then that would be even sweeter.

Your GPA and MCAT scores should give you interviews as they sit now. Indicating that you will retake them will most likely put your application on hold until your scores are received. Many schools do not prescreen, and even if they do, your scores will hold up to their averages. Its your call. Best of luck.
