I was looking on the crack dat website under "about the dat" and it shows me that theres 5 mins of reporting time and then 15 minutes of tutorial. i had no idea about this. whats the purpose of having these? and what do most ppl do during this time? can you skip it and just start the test?

Since they've recently boosted the price, they though it would be a good idea to add a "tutorial" option, so they'd have a good reason for charging you the extra $$$

now im confused... theres no reporting time or tutorial on the actual dat exam? its only on the crack dat software? ive seen ppls posts about drawing grids for the hole punching section during some point before the exam but i dont really know what theyre talking about. when you go and sit down at the computer, does the test start right away or what?

Oh sh***
Sorry! my bad. I blanked out for a second. I was thinking about something completely different!
Ignore my previous post.
There's a 5 minute reporting time, and during that time you take a survey about whether or not you liked the service at the testing center. During the tutorial time, you learn how to work with the computer. It's really a waste of time if you had taken some sort of a computer based practice exam before. I stared at the monitor for 15 minutes till the tutorial was over. However, you do have the option of ending it halfway through in order to proceed with the actual exam.
Again, sorry about the confusion😀

its cool! dont worry about it!
so both the reporting time and the tutorial are before the exam starts? i guess its good to get settled in the chair and stuff if you dont need the tutorial. and maybe make grids too? i dont know how these grids can help with hole punching, but anyway. is there anything after the QR section or you see the scores right away?

No, the tutorial is at the beginning. The survey pops up after you're done with QR. After you're done with the survey, the damn computer starts making some noises for 1-2 minutes, and then your scores appear on the screen for couple of minutes. Then the testing software shuts down and you go back to the desktop. Then you leave, you go outside, you sign out (there's a stupid login sheet at the front desk), and you receive a printout of your scores. Then depending on how well you've done on the exam you either step out of the testing center depressed or super happy that it's finally over.

there may be a drum roll... 😀

and nze, thanks for that. It's little stuff like that that kinda settles you down before taking the test. I'm sure I'll be staring at the screen too trying to collect myself prior to starting the test

I think I actually did hear a drum roll, before my scores appeared!

i think i might just faint while waiting for my scores. i can picture myself sitting there and falling off my chair. why is this process so nerve wracking? even now, a month before my test, my blood pressure goes up when i picture myself sitting at that computer. i need to find ways to calm down or else ill get a 0 no matter how much ive studied! ahhhhhh how do you guys stay calm during the test? i need to mentally prepare myself and think of techniques or im a goner

take advantage of your tutorial. I made myself tables for cube counting. Or you can write some important things that might help you. after break i came in early so i wrote down some trigonometry and formulas.

i end the survey thing at the end and turned around facing my head down...was scared to face scores.
