if i take step 1 of the usmle in addition to the comlex do i have to report my usmle scores to residency programs if my score doesn't turn out as good as i would have liked.

I dont think so, but I expect to be asked during interviews whether or not I took the USMLE (which I will), so if I bomb it, I wont want to lie about it.

Interestingly enough, the electronic app for the osteopathic match has spaces to repot both the COMLEX and USMLE. When I asked the NBOME representative why that would be, he didnt know. The ERAS put the form together and this may be the wave of the future...we may be required to put both test results (if taken).

I believe you have to show your scores starting next year.

You mean those applying for residency next year (MS3 now) or those taking Step 1 next year (i.e. MS1 now)?

Those who will be using ERAS for 2005. I could be wrong but that is what I understand. Check into it by contacting the folks at ERAS.

That's not cool. 😡
