Sorry to repost, but my other thread got no love. 😛

For step 2 CS,

1. Will we be told on the doorway info when we DON'T have to do a physical exam? The only times we don't do physicals from what i know is: phone encounters and all PED cases? But what about counseling/depression/etc....?

2. When writing your work-up plan, FA lists multile tests (cbc, lytes, ca) all on one line. What is the rule for that. FA doesn't specify.

3. For a clear psych case (eg scizo)- is the mental status exam enough as part of the physical, or do we still do heart/lungs etc....

3. Any other good to know tips before going in- either to make life easier or harder?

1) You don't do a physical exam when there is no patient to do an exam on. IF the patient is present, do the exam
4) Do you speak english? Do you go to an american medical school? If yes, you have already passed. Read FA once and you're good. Relax, this exam is easy.

Hey thanks for the reply Overactive! . Yes, I'm an AMG and all, however I know of 2 people at a couple of places who failed so I guess that may explain it.

For number one above, there are some videos on USMLE's practice site where the patient is in normal clother (no gown) so I am assuming that is just counseling and all.

Also, if you don't mind I still do wanna know 'bout the w/u stuff: multiple tests listed on one line?

Thanks
