just got accepted to CSPM (california)... Samuel Merritts is awesome...the nursing students are lookin hottt

I'm a second year student at Barry (c/o 2009).

I had poked around on SDN a little bit a few years ago when I was an undergraduate to find out about the MCAT and interview processes. It seems to really have grown since then....
I was unaware of the podiatry forums here until I read an article in the recent Winter 2007 edition of APMSA's First Step newsletter. The article, by a SCPM student who I would imagine is a forum member, was pretty well written, and I figured I'd check it out. I recognize jonwill and IlizaRob's names from the article. It seems like some good discussions and a lot of nice residency information available here; hopefully I can log on periodically and read or post a bit.

**One thing is really confusing me, though:
CSPM = Cali School of Pod Med
CPMS = Coll of Pod Med and Surg (Des Moines)

^Is that right? I'm pretty sure I figured it out from context, but just making sure...
The two acronyms used are so close... why not call the Iowa school DMU?

👍

It is CPMS and not DMU because Des Moines University is all of the colleges (osteo path, PA, PT, MHA, MPH). People use the terms interchangeably.

After being a Pitt Panther for four years, I am proud to say that I will be going to OCPM in the fall! 😍

To be honest, I had every intention of going elsewhere before interviewing.. My best friend goes to another school and I was dead set on attending. I only applied to four schools and ohio was the second one I interviewed at. During the interview, everyone was very enthusiastic about the school.. I like how the professors are accessible and how the school is moving to Independence. Its only a couple miles from Cleveland so you can live in the suburbs and still get the city life... After my interview, I had one of the Top schools scheduled to visit and my number one choice. I cancelled the "top school interview" because it was far away from my family and I was so happy with ohio that I wasnt interested. When I visited my "number one", I was so dissappointed .. It just seemed like a mismatch for me... Though they boast about being "ivy league"... I am the type of student that needs professors accessible.. I personally feel that a student should choose where they fit in and what makes them happy..Somewhere that will foster their excellence..Ohio did that for me... Everyone is different and you should make a list of pros and cons... Thats what I did after the interviews.. Good Luck with your decision!😛

OCPM 2011.
I was accepted to Temple, but did not like the area. When I found out that OCPM was moving out of the city and into Independence, it was a no-brainer for me.

NY here. This city is F-ing awesome!!! 😍

I keep finding something new and amazing and it never seems to let up.

And I'm hott. 😎

CSPM Class of 2009

I'd like to shout-out to:

The Fed
WNM Club
The Tsunami
TEBBIE COZARIO
And the Tran-man

I asked this in the pre-pod forum but it may be better asked here...

I was told at NYCPM that they offer housing at either Draper or Parkchester. Can any NYCPM students who live at Draper / Parkchester comment on the style of the place ( bedroom type, home/apt style, kitchen/bath/living room, etc), price of rent and what is included/not included (if you don't mind), what's around, ease of getting to class, etc. I am thinking about NYCPM and if so, would definitely choose one of these two options. Have any pictures by chance of your place/area, PM me. Thanks

Est-ce que vous parlez francais? Ca semble que ca serait difficil d'aller a l'ecole en francais sans savoir le parler. Bonne chance!

Oui je parle francais 🙂 And that's why my English is so bad
The university only accept 25 students each year, and for now we must be a resident of the province of Quebec to apply. 3/4 of the program is done in french. But we have 1/4 of the program that's given by DPMs of the NYCPM, and we have to go 4 months there during our 4 year. No one ever graduated from the University, first canadian DPM ever will gratuate in april 2008 (I will in 2010)

I see. What part of Quebec are you from? I have lived all over the province some years back. It's where I learned french. I enjoy Vieux Quebec and it's environs and many parts of Montreal. I was just there last summer again visiting. Gotta love the poutine and tarte au sucre!
