This might be a stupid question, but why is there no immune responce to the sperm once it's in the female reproductive tract?

I don't know who this Barry Shell is but he seems to have some sort of an answer. Apparently, cervical mucous (that changes based on menstrual cycle) helps protect the sperm from her immune system.
