It seems like interview invitations are slowing down a bit for me. I was wondering if it is okay to contact programs you have not received invitations or rejections from and asking them about the status of your application?

Frankly put - Jackson Memorial Hospital (Miami) has been one of my dream programs for neurology, and I was really hoping for an invitation from them. I have not heard anything. I also realize that it is midway through October, and maybe (hopefully) I am further down on their list and just didn't make their initial cut.

I don't plan on desperately begging for an interview, but I suppose I am not above that, either (mostly kidding). Any advice? Much appreciated, homies.

I'd be interested in this advice too since there are a few programs I'd love interview at. My guess is it's still too early since most websites say they go over apps from sept through october. If their method is to assign applications to different reviewers, many apps may not have been even seen the first time yet.

My tentative plan is to wait until the end of the month, try to make sure they've sent out at least one invite already (there are trolls on SDN after all...), then just shoot the coordinator a concise, polite email expressing my interest.

I think Miami may have sent off at least 2 rounds. I got an invite about 1 week ago with only 1 date available.

I would send an interested letter end of October (agree with above poster) since there are bound to be cancellations for every program. Not all programs have sent their invites yet! Good luck 🙂
