So I seen a few programs on freida that state with their step one score cut off that they require step II to interview. Is this real or what? The first chance I have to take step II ck is when I scheduled to take it in late Oct.

Will I be passed over for an interview if my score is not available till mid nov?

Texas Tech, U of Arizona, U of Florida, Baylor at Houston, Mayo in Jacksonville, Cal Irvine, U of Texas Galveston, etc.

Last year uci offered me an interview prior to my score being released, no guarantee they haven't changed it for this cycle though.

phew ! nothing in the northeast!

FREIDA also claims that UPMC requires Step 2 for interview. I called one of the programs that listed this requirement though and after asking for my step 1 score the coordinator told me that I would be fine. I think it's only enforced if your step 1 is somewhat borderline.

Only program that required it last year that I knew of was UCSF.

Yup, that's what I meant.

Step 2 was irrelevant for interviews unless you had a bad Step 1.

The op is saying these schools require a score to offer an interview. I don't think it's true, though. Mgh had that on their website but still offered interviews to ppl who hadn't taken it.

Do you guys know if Step 2 is required for Transitional Year programs? I am looking at several of these programs and their websites state they either need or require Step 2 scores, although they don't clarify before pre-interview screening or just before entering the program.

The only place I've heard of that requires Step 2 for anything is UCSF (for ranking only, believe it is for all of their programs).

No one else even cares that much.

A good rule of thumb a program director told me for rads. If you're applying to reputable university programs and Step 1 is <240 you better get in Step 2. If you're applying to mid to lower level university programs and good community programs and your Step 1 is < 230 you had better get in Step 2. If you just want to match anywhere don't bother with Step 2 if your Step 1 is > 220. And if you want to match at Allegheny General Hospital wait for the scramble.

What happened with AGH last year? I saw that they filled 1 of 8 spots.
