One of the MOST annoying things I've been asked is "Where did you apply?" by people during interviews. Typically, it's the guy who's billed as "the other interviewer," the one who is just there to fill out the interview day. It would be one thing if the question related to the geographical area to which you've applied, but asking specifics--and then commenting on them--seems pretty crass to me. Worst is when you answer, only to be asked again, then again, etc.

Aside from their ability to talk informally with one another, is there some other way they can find out where all you've applied?

LOL 🙄

Did they at least serve you decent muffins during your interview days? I am very concerned that you are getting the most out of your day. It is after all, all about you.

BTW, There is no way for anyone, other than yourself, to know what programs you interview at.
