Rescheduling an II?

Can rescheduling an interview hurt an applicant's chances at admission? I have an interview coming up in a few weeks, but am also in the midst of a family situation abroad for which I may need to extend my trip...I am not sure what to do I'm happy to explain it to admissions, but the rescheduling occurs through the portal so I do not know if this is a required part of the procedure.

I dont think theyll even notice via portal unless you change it the day before your interview and they see theyre missing an interviewee.
