Hey guys,

I just wanted to know how many times can you reschedule the DAT and would it look bad? Also, do the schools see how many times you rescheduled?

Thanks

I don't think the schools are able to see how many times you rescheduled, but I'm not sure. Maybe you should reschedule for a far off date and study and when you feel like you are some what ready, studying at your current pace, then schedule it a month ahead of that time. Then you'll feel sufficiently ready and have an extra month to tie any loose ends.

I rescheduled my DAT three times, all in different states too!! All in a three week period. Dental school won't know if you've rescheduled it but if you're application is already in and all they need is your DAT score, then taking a later date DAT would just make your application more late, that's the way I saw it. Applying early is a big advantage. My Pre-dent counselor told me not to take it after August because it would be a bit too late (some schools don't even look at completed applications after September b/c they sent out a lot of the interviews already. If you're willing to pay the $25 dollar rescheduling fee each time, then you can reschedule as much as you like, just make sure its 2 business days before your exam.

Being prepared and applying late, IMO, is better than not being prepared and taking the DAT just to be early. Gauge yourself and see when would be best.
