Hey everyone I am completely torn on what to do. I have an interview scheduled and confirmed for Friday but my town is about to be hit by a pretty huge hurricane. It was not headed our way originally and I confirmed the interview way before this storm was even a threat. I am so worried that this will impact my future with this school as it is one of my top choices but I have kids, family, and my house to protect. I have contacted them but they have not responded as of yet. Do most schools understand emergencies such as these or do you guys think I am screwing myself over by not driving out before the storm hits. It would be a different story if I was single and young, but as I am a non-trad, I have others who depend on me. UGH!

Look at it this way, if the school is not willing to assist you in this very serious emergency, would you really want to attend? I would call and sincerely explain to them how important this school is to you and how hard it is to make the decision. It's a hurricane though, surely they will understand.

Call the admissions people today and explain the situation. As @Marrowist pointed out, I would not want to attend a school that doesn't assist its students.

You can't even turn on the news today without hearing how this has the potential to be a severe and deadly storm.

Before medical school, I was a weatherman. Call the school now...protect your family and property.

Good to hear that they worked with you. I feel like there aren't many better reasons to move an interview than a natural disaster...good luck to you and your family!
