Is it possible to reschedule mcat without losing original spot while looking for availability like can I see availability of slots at certain locations without losing my initial position?

Do NOT do this. AAMC interprets this as an applicant taking the MCAT twice but only sticking with the higher score in order to avoid reporting the lower score when applying. I believe it's strictly against AAMC rules and can trigger consequences.

OP, you can only have one scheduled MCAT exam at a time. If you reschedule, then you lose the original spot.

And yes, you can look for availability of other spots despite having a reserved spot - that's pretty much the definition of rescheduling. But if you reserve the new spot then you must give up the original one.
