Hey guys,
I'm not 100% ready to take my exam this coming Monday, so I logged into the page to reschedule, and it says, "This appointment is past the cutoff date for modification. Please contact your sponsoring organization." This makes sense as Sat/Sun aren't business days, so I would've had to reschedule on Friday. I'm truly not ready to take it and I'm definitely not going in on Monday, so does anyone have any suggestions? If I cancel the appointment, which I'm able to do today (although I can't reschedule, which is weird), can I take the test next week or do I have to wait 90 days? Also, if I don't show up the day of the exam, is that a better option? Will I still have to take it in 90 days? I'm under the assumption (based on the information on the ADA website) that if you cancel, you can just submit a new request to take the test and get approved, and just schedule for whenever. Is this correct?
Thank you guys! I'd appreciate any advice.

Your assumption is correct - if you cancel (or just don't show up, it doesn't really matter), you just submit a new request to take the test and get approved, which shouldn't take more than a few days. The 90 day waiting period is for students who have taken the test.

Sorry, another question, if I cancel now, do I still have to pay the $415 to reschedule?

So what's weird is that if I cancel today, for instance, it's $100 to cancel. Then I'd have to pay $415 to schedule a new test. Whereas if I don't show up on Monday, I don't have to pay the $100 to cancel, and simply pay $415 for the test. I feel like there's something not right with that haha. Any thoughts?

Haha, right! That's what led me to believe that it's just $100 to cancel and then I can just find a new date and schedule the test again under my initial application. So now I'm stuck!

Tried to look into this some more. From page 20 of: http://www.ada.org/~/media/ADA/Education and Careers/Files/dat_examinee_guide.ashx

"No Show Policy:

If you do not appear for your scheduled testing appointment and you do not cancel or reschedule your appointment in advance of the test date, you will forfeit all testing fees. You will be required to submit a new application and pay the fee to schedule a new appointment."

This would seem to imply that cancelling in advance of the test date could allow you to reschedule without having to pay the testing fee again, which would be good news.

Just wanted to update this in case anyone needs help with the same issue and is searching the forum for an answer at some point:
I didn't need to pay an extra $415 to schedule a new exam. I just paid the $100 cancellation fee and then I chose to "schedule" another appointment, and simply inputed my eligibility ID sent to me all that time ago when I sent in my first application. I was then able to choose any date, without waiting. Just some tips for those who will also struggle with this!

Thanks Feralis and Nancy 🙂 You guys are the best! I appreciate all of your guys' help.
