Hey guys,
I'm not 100% ready to take my exam this coming Monday, so I logged into the page to reschedule, and it says, "This appointment is past the cutoff date for modification. Please contact your sponsoring organization." This makes sense as Sat/Sun aren't business days, so I would've had to reschedule on Friday. I'm truly not ready to take it and I'm definitely not going in on Monday, so does anyone have any suggestions? If I cancel the appointment, which I'm able to do today (although I can't reschedule, which is weird), can I take the test next week or do I have to wait 90 days? Also, if I don't show up the day of the exam, is that a better option? Will I still have to take it in 90 days? I'm under the assumption (based on the information on the ADA website) that if you cancel, you can just submit a new request to take the test and get approved, and just schedule for whenever. Is this correct?
Thank you guys! I'd appreciate any advice.

Pretty sure you can cancel it and reschedule to whatever dates are available. If you don't show up to a scheduled one, you lose the test fee.

Thank you!! 🙂 But if I cancel now, do I still have to pay the $415 to reschedule?

Number of Days Prior to Testing Appointment Fee
24 business hours before to 5 business days prior to the testing appointment. $100
6 to 30 business days prior to the testing appointment. $60
31+ business days prior to the testing appointment. $25
**Saturdays and Sundays are NOT business days**

You should call, but the ADA guide leads me to thinking that you will lose the $415 unless there is an emergency the day of testing.

You might be risking the 90 day grace period, I would call ADA or Prometric as soon as possible.

How are your practice exam's scores?

They're pretty good. But I haven't finished reviewing all the material so that's what is scaring me off. I just know I don't have enough time to go over everything I've wanted to go over. Oh, that feeling..haha

Oh if you have been doing practice exams for a while and finished your last ones yesterday, you should use 2 days for reviewing before exam. This will review al your mistakes and just general review. I am not sure if it is worth $415 to postpone for one extra week.

I just have too much to do. It's not a lack of understanding any information but just simply that I need more than two days to go over everything and the only availability is one week from today at the site in my city. Thank you for being so helpful 🙂 you all are so nice!

If you end up canceling. The best thing to do is just not show up. Than you can reschedule anytime you want with no waiting period. If you call to cancel they will charge you $$ lol

So it's a for sure thing that if I pay the cancellation fee, I'll still have to pay the full price of the test? I read on one of these forums, a girl ended up canceling the exam and paid the fee and after she was able to schedule a new exam under the same eligibility ID without having to pay full price for another DAT. Any thoughts?
Also, thank you for your help 🙂

Pretty sure you do not pay full price. You just pay price of cancellation like when you reschedule exams. If you do not show up, you have to pay full price and get new eligibility ID.

Just wanted to update this in case anyone needs help with the same issue and is searching the forum for an answer at some point:
I didn't need to pay an extra $415 to schedule a new exam. I just paid the $100 cancellation fee and then I chose to "schedule" another appointment, and simply inputed my eligibility ID sent to me all that time ago when I sent in my first application. I was then able to choose any date, without waiting. Just some tips for those who will also struggle with this!

Thank you all for helping me out! You're very appreciated.
