Hello everyone,

I took research credits this past semester as a graduate student and received an A. However I will probably receive a B+for my ecology class, which makes my overall grad gpa for the semester a 3.6. My overall grad gpa will probably be a 3.5 after this. I was just curious as to how dental schools view research credit? I understand they are counted towards the science gpa but do they in a sense look down upon them? I work in a molecular genetics lab and have 1 publication thus far. Anyone with insight into this please do let me know. Thanks!

Getting a B+ isn’t going to ruin your chances and it’s a research class(which looks good regardless). You’re good, have a happy new year.

I understand that but I was asking more specifically about the research credits. I was wondering if they consider that to be on the same level as an A in a regular class with exams or don’t really consider it much.

They’ll treat it similar or may even like it more. It stands out. Not everything is about rote memorization in a classroom. So that’s good!
