I have around 8 credits of research that I did for my bio department. I've been doing research since I was a sophomore in the spring semester (unfortunately, I did not apply for credit then) and have been continuing to do it till I was a senior. I've spent a lot of time in my lab, which to be honest, sort of made me not do as well in some of my classes. I would spend around 12-15 hours a week there and in my senior year, I would go in during the weekends sometimes. I recently found out that my research credits do count towards my GPA, as long as it falls within bio, chem, physics, and math(?). I started to apply for credit in my junior year, 2 credits per semester, up until my senior year. So I've amounted to a total of 8 credits of A's in research. I was wondering if this would be viewed negatively by the med school admissions because it may look inflated?

1) Its fine
2) even if the research is for credit, it should be an entry in your EC

Nahh, scoop up those A's and don't feel bad about it. Not only would it be weird to frown on research, but your involvement in research over four consecutive semesters in itself would also disprove that you are 'doing it to inflate your GPA'.
