During last year's summer I did an away research project for 4 month in the specialty I'm interested in. I was supposed to be involved with one project, but while I was there, there weren't always patient to include for that study so I ended up being involved in about 4 different projects. This led to being the 1st, 3th and 4th author of some of these projects. I have now listed this as 1 research experience in ERAS, and have a brief description saying I was involved with multiple projects, and referral to my publication section if anything led to publication/presentation, but I am not sure. Don't want to pad my application, but now I have about 900 characters to describe everything I did, so interested in what others think.

Thanks!

In general, I would list it as a single event. Having three research experiences with all the same dates will look strange. If the different projects all had different supervisors / PI's, I guess you could list them separately. Still, you can say a lot in 900 characters!

If these are 4 different projects, it would be reasonable for you to list them as separate 'events'. In your description you will want to be clear about the approximate amount of time you spent doing each one. For faculty, generally this entails effort reporting, i.e., 10% effort on project X, 40% effort on project Y, etc. You don't need to be that precise in ERAS. But it would be reasonable for you to say something like you spent about 1 day per week on X, 3 days per week on Z, etc.

It would also be reasonable for you to list them as one 'event'. Research assistant for Professor X, contributed to the following projects: XYZ roles for 1 day/week leading to 3rd author publication (see below), P and Q for 3 days/week leading to a poster presentation, etc.
