is it absolutely mandatory to have done some research in order to be considered for michigan? for those of you who have interviews at umich, do you all have some sort of research experience?
i have no research experience, yet, ive applied to michigan. seems like a waste of money now🙁

Yeah, I was asked about my project during my interview and they spend 30 mins talking about their research programs during the day. With that said, I don't believe all the applicants there necessarily had research experience.

I don't have any research experience and I was interviewed at Michigan last year. I was put on the alternate list with no spots opening up.

Don't give up hope

i interviewed there and they asked about my research, but its not a requirement. definitely a plus though since the school is heavily funded by NIH.

I had no research to my name, and I was accepted to UMich last year. I turned them down, however, for a more clinically-oriented school.
