hey guys,
I need to come up with a research topic for my research class... :S
Has anyone here done a research project or does anyone have any cool ideas? It needs to be an experiment that can be done within a semester,, and anything involving plants and/or rats would be good (something affordable--my school is poor 😛)
Can anyone help me my brain hurts from trying to think of a research experiment that I can actually design and carry out =(
ANY ideas would be appreciated! 🙂

I did a research project during a semester. I studied a novel osteosarcoma cell line and assessed which genes were actually involved when apoptosis was induced by a certain drug. Once I learned how to run the PCR machine it was easy. The cell line wasn't cheap though, but the work was minimal. I would suggest working with CELLS and not multicellular organisms if you are doing a project over only a semester.

You need to give us some more information here. What discipline are you interested to research? What facilities/equipment do you have access to? And are you referring to this semester? There aren't too many weeks left this semester for some projects requiring cell culture and mice.
