Research Internships in High School and more..

The easiest way to get a research internship is to get involved with research at the university level early on in your college career. If you work with a professor during the school year, there is a good chance that you'll be offered a position during the summer working with that same professor. Note that many/most of these positions are typically given to upperclassmen who want a career in research first.

If you want to go elsewhere for a research internship, prior research experience is usually preferred. Again, do research at your home institution, get your professor to bat for you and you should land a position somewhere. There are hundreds of them.

This is the only thing I can think of off the top of my head that's open to high school students (juniors and up). I looked into it when I was in hs and didn't apply; I'm not sure how competitive it is but there are limited spots and it's also open to underclassmen undergrads so I'd assume it's somewhat competitive. If you're not the area I don't think it's the best idea as a hs student since you need to get your own housing.

I also know a few people who did research at UCs in labs, but it's not common as a hs student at all. You need to ask around.
