Hey there,

Is a letter of recommendation from a radiology research mentor helpful? I did a month of research on a pretty involved project (scanned volunteers and patients to compare two sequences) that may get published, and is ongoing. My mentor wrote a letter for me and is asking where he should send it. Any ideas on what I should do with it? I already have 3 LORs, 2 from radiologists and 1 non-radiologist. I feel adding another radiology letter is overkill. I think I read somewhere that you can take such letters to interviews to show how involved you were in a project, especially if it's in progress and not published.

What do you guys think? Thanks, and good luck with apps

3 rads letters might be a bit overkill, but it you are applying to academic programs the research letter might be more useful than two clinical rads letters.

In reality you are probably better off sending the best letters whatever they may be.
