Research Observership

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
observership? sounds awful.

find one to work in. even if you're only doing mindless drivel to start, at least it's something. and you will be informally observing plenty while doing that.

or, "volunteer" to work in one. same concept.

What is a research observership? Is it any different than being a low-level research assistant?

All in all, I guess research helps your application somewhat because bigger name schools (and non-big name schools) often like to see you have "an interest in research." I put in quotes because in my mind, it's just one more box to check/hoop to jump through to help yourself get into medical school.
