Length of Program: 1 or 2 years
Position Description: This is a one/two-year position offered from July 1st to June 30th for highly motivated post-doctoral applicants who wish to pursue further experience in dermatologic clinical research and training in dermatology. The position offers a structured foundation in the basic principles of dermatology and dermatologic surgery while mediating the production of the departmental scholarly activities/publications. As the dermatology clinical assistant, the post-doc will lead the development of the departmental quality improvement projects and facilitate their implementation with clinic staff and mid-level providers. Educational lectures at departmental meetings are encouraged as a means to introduce and defend current topics to an audience of resident physicians and practicing dermatologists. The assistant will engage in weekly faculty-led lectures and journal clubs. The clinical research assistant will assist with manuscript preparation, IRB protocol submission, and participate in the review/critique of all departmental articles in preparation for publication. The clinical research assistant is expected to publish at least one clinical research article during their fellowship and is expected to make at least one scientific presentation. The clinical research assistant will serve as sub-investigator for all departmental clinical trials and will assist with all daily activities and monitoring of clinical trials in accordance with Good Clinical Practices guidelines. The assistant will participate and play a lead role in all industry-sponsored clinical research projects. The assistant will have the opportunity to observe and participate in clinical care commensurate with previous training under the direction of the clinical attending faculty. In addition, there may be opportunities to engage in formal course work at the School of Public Health or the School of Business. The assistant will be expected to attend educational opportunities regarding research and faculty development offered by the College of Medicine. It is anticipated that this experience will aid the clinical research assistant’s path to the next appropriate stage of professional education and development. The director will assist and supervise the clinical research assistant as needed during the clinical research studies and data management.

- Must be eligible to obtain an Oklahoma Medical License prior to start date
