I'm planning to apply for neurology but I'm interested in an academic career i.e research, and even in basic/translational neuroscience of epilepsy. However, it seems to me that most research fellowships are reserved for US citizens. I don't know though how true is that? Does anyone have info about this? What's the likelihood of an IMG forging an academic career after doing a residency in neurology? Appreciate your advice.
