I am working on a project with my P.I in which we had a very small N (29). It was clinical research, a retrospective chart review on something that is very interesting in our opinion. My mentor wants to publish it but there aren't many journals that would consider something with such a small sample size.
One option we found is the Mayo Clinic Proceedings under the heading of brief reports. This is what they say about it:
Brief Report. A Brief Report will typically address an early report or observation of relevance to clinical medicine or medical science. This category is not intended to present preliminary data on structured, ongoing research but instead is intended to present unanticipated or extremely novel observations that may encourage others to perform related research or reassess their clinical practice.
The research we did is psych research. Do you guys know of any other journal that would publish something like this?
Thanks!
