I'm planning on becoming a research assistant for a couple of psychology research labs (it involves mostly cognition and neuroimaging). I was wondering if this would be relevant in terms of applying for dental school. Do dental schools like any type of research or more science-based?

any research will be research. They just like to see that you understand the importance of how research moves the field forward.

What is important, and important to your interviews, is that you have learned to perform research, what "good" research is, and how to be a responsible producer and consumer of research.
