Hey everyone,

for those secondaries where it asks you about your reseach experience, what's the best way to answer them? Do you write about what you did, what it meant to you/what you got out of it, or what you plan to do with what youve learned?

Here's my predicament....I did research for one year and I absolutely hated it. i tried it again in a brief internship for 2 months and I still had a poor experience, so I concluded that it's not for me. Should I convey this (I'm thinking no, haha), or should I simply describe what I've done in a simple way? What else should I add? This is only for 3 or 4 schools so I'm not too worried but I'd like to have at least a well thought out response.

Help! Thanks!

is this for case western?

Case Western, U Maryland, a few others too I think. It's a fairly common question, I just can't write more than a paragraph about it without my brain shutting down, haha

It might be a hint not to apply there. Most of these schools have a research thesis requirement for graduation. I'm sure there are many schools more focused on primary care and could care less about your research exp?

If you need to describe the research project (as in the case of CWR, I recall?), try not to go into too many details...think of explaining the research project to an audience of non-pre-med and non-science folks. Just keep it really general (but not so general that it's vague)... I think you can still write it so that you figure out at the end that you really, only prefer to work with people (you like to interact with people)...but still throw in something like I understand the significance of research...don't completely rule it out

Like the previous poster had said, it might not be a good idea to apply to schools with an emphasis on research (thesis requirement, etc.)...but that's just my two cents😎
