My research was for the NASA Advanced Life Support Systems development at Utah State University. We basically are looking at the plant side of a self sustaining life support system for space stations, lunar bases, longer space travel and eventually a Mars base. I studied the mitigation of harmful effects of power loss and subsequent loss of full light through cooling and addition of low levels of light.
I know that there is no way to do any direct research in Dentistry during the undergrad at USU. My research is pretty far out there, not even health related. However, one of the first questions I was asked at all of my interviews was about my research. In addition, when will I ever get to work for a NASA research project again?
